Eco-church 2020
After a huge amount of work, we were in April 2020 awarded the SILVER level award from A Rocha. This was possible only due to the hard work put in by many people – and through the praying of us all.

Since then we’ve had the pandemic - but now we’re through the worst of that, we need as a church to maintain our focus on Eco-church matters, for the climate crisis is getting worse and is very unlikely to be reversed. All we can now do is to slow down the heating effect.
Hence our task now at Wellspring is to ensure that we are maintaining the high level of climate engagement that resulted in the Silver award; there must be no slippage – but even, where possible, an improvement.
Statement of Climate Concern 2021
On behalf of Wellspring Paul Heppleston produced a document which was publicised for people living in the Derbyshire Dales area to read and to consider adding their name in agreement with the concerns, fears and hopes for our planet that are expressed in the document. The document and accompanying notes are found here.
It was later passed on to those who had decision-making responsibilities as Britain moved towards COP26 in Glasgow at the end of 2021.
Crucially, our MP also received a copy.
Creation Care 2022
In 2022 Wellspring introduced Creation Care (www.creationcare.org.uk) to our church in the hope that, in our households, we can mirror what has been achieved by the church building and through the activities of Wellspring as a church community. Do look at that website above and see what it can mean for you and your home.
