LAETARE – REJOICE!
Gracious God, let the light of your face shine upon us; your peace rule in our hearts and your strength be our song. By the gift of your grace let us take up the cross and follow in the steps of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen (Matthew Henry 1662-1714) |

We come before God in prayer
Lord, you know our innermost thoughts and actions, even before we speak or act. You are all around us protecting us with love beyond our human understanding. May your hand be upon us, to guide and strengthen; may the sharing of your word, give comfort in the knowledge of your unfailing love.
Gentle, patient God – thank you for your tender care.
Lord, we give thanks for the beauty of all your creation, our home on Mother Earth; for the changing seasons, each bringing its own beauty; for the early morning sunlight, glistening on dew covered grass and hedgerows, for the lengthening of days, and the distant stars scattered on your night sky. Thank you for the time we are able to spend watching the wild-life that visits our gardens each day, and for the welcome signs of spring bringing the promise of new birth.
Gentle, patient God – thank you for your tender care.
We pray for all who are unwell, in mind, body or spirit - grant them the strength to overcome their adversity. May they know your peace and love at all times.
We give thanks for the skills and dedication of our Scientists, Doctors, Nurses and Carers; for all those workers who quietly go about their daily duties of providing services for us all. Please guide them and keep them safe.
Gentle, patient God – thank you for your tender care.
We pray for all those in authority, that they may show wisdom and compassion in their decision making, decisions which affect the lives and livelihood of our nation and the wider world.
We give thanks for your Church, for the fellowship we share together and the technology which enables us to reach out to our congregation and our local community; for our friends and family, for the many ways in which we continue to help and support one another other during difficult times.
Gentle, patient God – thank you for your tender care.
Lord, we remember all who have died, may they have eternal life. We pray for comfort for their loved ones as they grieve their loss.
Gentle, patient God – thank you for your tender care.
Hear our personal prayers, Lord for those close to our hearts…………………………….

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen

Prayer
God raised the serpent in the desert so that the children of Israel might be healed; those who chose to look upon it lived. God lifted up his Son upon a cross, so that all might be saved and have eternal life; those who choose to believe in him are forgiven their sins, and will know the joys of heaven. |

O God, every day you offer us choices; ours is the decision between good and evil, the path of righteousness or the road to destruction.
Thank you for showing us the good and true way through your Son.
When our choices have been driven by our selfishness rather than love for you –
we thank you for your forgiveness.
When we have heeded the ceaseless chatter of the world rather than obeying your Word –
we thank you for your patience with us.
Thank you for forgiving us and guiding our feet back even when we turn the wrong way.
Thank you for your eternal love
Amen.

Normally, as part of our worship on Mothers Day Wellies young peoples group give out Daffodils to the ladies in the congregation as a way of expressing the honour we owe to mothers throughout the world for their love and caring. As we cannot do that this year we share a "virtual" bouquet of daffodils as a reminder.
