"SEEING JESUS
‘Now among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said to him, ‘Sir, we wish to see Jesus.’ Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus’.
[John 12:20-22]

Prayer
Yours, Lord, were the arms stretched wide on the cross,
a welcome to all in the midst of your agony.
Yours were the arms spread in blessing after the resurrection.
Crucified Lord, risen Lord,
we adore you in your pain and in your victory,
your welcome ever the same,
gathering us to you and blessing us,
enfolding us in your loving embrace.
Amen

Prayer
Suffering God, take your place in the midst of us once again so we will come to know you and your sufferings. May your journey and our journey be joined together, and our sufferings transformed by togetherness. Amen. Take a moment to name before God places and situations of suffering in this world together with those personally known to us in their suffering… By the nails through your hands and feet, by the crown of thorns upon your head, by the spear that pierced your side, by your being scorned and rejected, by your time of desolation… Give comfort to the suffering, hope to the despairing, courage to the heart-broken love to the lonely lift up all who are down. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen

And forgive us our trespasses,

And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen
