SABBATICAL REFLECTIVE STORIES - A NEW RESOURCE
There are six audio-stories. They are for your use on alternate Sundays during our Sabbatical time weeks; you might use this resource as an alternative to travelling to Cromford on the 'non-Wellspring' Sundays. Or perhaps you'll use them at other times; the choice is yours - and you can use them in any order.
Each has a prayer following it, so after listening to a story, scroll down to see the relevant prayer; they have been written to fit with the story's theme.

Each story has a prayer written to follow it. Here they are below.
ORANGE, ORANGE, ORANGE
Ps 139 as in Bernadette Farrell’s song.
Read it as a quiet prayer....
O God, you search me and you know me.
All my ways lie open to your gaze.
When I walk or lie down, you go before me:
Ever the maker and keeper of my days.
You know my resting and my rising.
You discern my purpose from afar,
and with love everlasting you besiege me:
in ev’ry moment of life or death, you are.
Before a word is on my tongue, Lord,
you have known its meaning through and through.
You are with me beyond my understanding:
God of my present, my past and future too.
Although your Spirit is upon me,
still I search for shelter from your light.
There is nowhere on earth I can escape you:
Even the darkness is radiant in your sight.
For you created me and shaped me,
gave me life within my mother’s womb.
For the wonder of who I am, I praise you:
Safe in your hands, all creation is made new.
TOUCH
Lord Jesus, you know the power of touch.
You touched innumerable people with your healing power :
Roman soldiers, Blind Bartimeus, a leper.
Lord, you know the power of relationship.
You created bonds between the God-in-you and ordinary people.
May we receive that Pentecost spirit to enable us to maintain the
bonds of truth and friendship, honesty and concern.
And may we, through the power of touch, offer healing to those
in need in our families and in our friendship groups.
Forgive this human race to which we belong where the power of
touching has led to a total breakdown in relationship bonds,
affecting youngsters for life.
Help us as humanity to know that you still offer the touch of love to
us in all its forms. All you ask us to do is to pass on those simple
and utterly profound blessings to others.

There is no written prayer for this one, but an audio-prayer follows the story.
LOWER THAN THE GRASSES
Lord, may we understand our position in the order of your creation.
We were the last to be made, but some say that ‘the last shall be first’
giving them permission to plunder and exploit.
Others see the last like a monarch in procession - in a place of honour.
Teach us good Lord that we are totally dependent on all other life forms
and are neither of greater nor lesser worth than any of them.
May this understanding lead us onward as we join with people around the world to heal our planet.
Holy God, May we think Whole-ness in all we do.
